Confluence of Three States

Day 01: Goa – Badami

On the day of your arrival in Goa, our representative will meet you at the hotel and help you in getting transferred to Badami. A quaint little town that once formed a part of the Chalukyan Empire, Badami is known for its rich Dravidian that can be witnessed through the temple ruins and rock cut caves. On arrival, you will be escorted for the check in. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

 Day 02: Badami Excursions

Today, we begin with the tours package that offers a confluence of three South Indian State – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. On this day, you will leave for an excursion to the Aihole and Pattadakal. A temple complex that dates back to 4th century, Aihole boasts of as many as 125 temples. Divided into 22 groups by the Archaeology department of India, these temple ruins bear a testimony to the evolution of the Dravidian style of architecture. Amongst the must-see are Gandar, Ladkhan, Hucchapaya and Kontigudi temple complexes, along with Jain Meguti temple and Durga Temple. Next on your itinerary is a visit to Pattadakal, a World Heritage Site which is just about half an hour’s drive from Badami. It is home to about ten temples, which were built between 7th and 9th century. Some of the temples boast of Chalukya Dravidian architectural style, while others are built as per Nagara style of Northern India. Do make sure to see Virupaksha Temple, Mallikarjuna Temple, and Sangameshvara Temple. Return to Badami for an overnight stay.

 Day 03: Badami – Hospet

On this day, you will leave Badami and begin your journey towards Hospet, which is mainly visited for its proximity to Hampi – a UNSECO World Heritage Site. Check into the hotel on arrival and spend some time at leisure. Overnight stay will be the hotel.

 Day 04: Hospet Excursion

Start your day with luscious breakfast and then proceed for an excursion to the heritage city of Hampi. Once the capital of Vijayanagar kingdom; Hampi today stands as a delight for the architecture lovers. It houses various notable Hindu temples, palatial edifices, military building and even an Archaeological Museum. Do not forget to have a look at the King’s balance, where the erstwhile kings used to be weighed against grain, gold or money for distribution amongst poor. Next on your list is a visit to the Tungabhadra Dam, which also has a garden at its base of built in the Japanese style. After an exciting day at Hampi, come back to Hospet for an overnight stay.

 Day 05: Hospet – Hassan

This fifth day of your Karnataka tour package will see you moving to Hassan, which is about 7-hrs’ drive from Hospet and forms a part of your journey to Mysore. Named after the Goddess “Hassanamba”, it is also considered to be the temple-architectural capital of Karnataka. Check into the hotel on arrival and then retire for the night.

 Day 06: Hassan – Belur – Halebid – Mysore

Continue on your journey to Mysore, after having breakfast and checking out from the hotel in Hassan. On the way, you will make a short stoppage to visit Belur which is considered as one of the most exquisite examples of the Hindu temple art and architecture. It is situated on the banks of River Yagachi and houses the Chennakeswara Temple – dedicated to Lord Krishna and boasting of detailed carving and sculptures that date back to 12th century. Viranarayan and the Chennigaraya are two other temples that are worth exploring.  Next stoppage is at Halebid that is home to the famous Hoysaleswara Temple. One of the largest Hoysala temples, it houses two shrines – both dedicated to Lord Shiva. You will find the exquisitely carved epic scenes in this temple taking you back to the bygone era. There is also an Archaeological Museum for those who care to go back into history. After arriving at Mysore, check into the hotel and enjoy a good night’s sleep.

 Day 07: Mysore Sightseeing

Begin your day with an excursion to Somnathpur, a temple complex that is must-see for all the architecture and history lovers. It is home to Chennakesava Temple that woos you with the detailed carvings on its walls, pillars and ceiling. Keshava temple is another complex that is worth seeing. After filling your senses with architectural marvels, it is time to come back to Mysore and immerse yourself in the natural beauty offered by the Brindavan gardens. Also on your itinerary is a visit to the zoological garden, Mysore arts & crafts centre, and the Chamundi Temple. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

 Day 08: Mysore – Bangalore – Chennai

Karnataka tourism package has still not ended for you. After having breakfast in the hotel, you will start your drive towards Bangalore Airport to catch your flight to Chennai. On arrival, you will be escorted by our representatives to your hotel and assisted in the check in. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

 Day 09: Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram

Leave for a sightseeing tour of the capital city of Tamil Nadu – Chennai. Said to be the cultural center of South India, it woos you with its mysticism of classical music, grace of Bharatanatyam dance and the shine of swishing silk. Begin your sightseeing tour with a visit to Kapaleeswara Temple, built in the Dravidian style of architecture and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Following this is the Santhome Cathedral Church, which is the resting place for St. Thomas. Fort St. Geogre and the Government Museum and Art Gallery bring an end to your sightseeing tour. Come back to the hotel for a check out and then proceed on a drive to Mahabalipuram. On the way, make a stop to visit Kancheepuram, home to Ekambareswara Temple, Varadarajaswamy Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple. You can also shop for the famous Kanchipuram silk sarees. Resume your journey to Mahalbalipuram, check into the hotel on arrival and then retire for the night.

Day 10: Mahabalipuram Sightseeing

One of the most popular Tamil Nadu tourist places, Mahabalipuram is known for its rich temple heritage of. Start the day with a visit to the famous Shore Temple, housing three shrines – two dedicated to Lord Shiva and the third enshrining a reclining Lord Vishnu. You must also visit the monolithic Rathas as well the cave that marks Arjuna’s penance. In the afternoon, have lunch and spend the rest of the time at leisure. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 11: Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry.

Leave Mahabalipuram for your drive to Pondicherry, which was once a territory of the French and still retains some of its olden charm. One on hand, it will woo you with its chic streets, elegant houses and ornamental gardens and on the other, you will marvel in the rich Tamilian culture that it has embraced. Check into the hotel on arrival, freshen up and then leave for a sightseeing tour of the city. Amongst its most popular attractions is the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, still housing the relics of Sri Aurobindo. Next, make a stoppage at Auroville, an experimental township that is built on the belief that men and women of all countries, creeds, religions etc. can live in peace and progressive harmony. Do visit Promenade Beach, housing French War Memorial, 19th Century Light House, Governors Palace, Pondicherry Museum and the French Institute of Pondicherry. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 12: Pondicherry – Tanjore – Trichy

Check out from your hotel and begin the journey to Trichy, stopping enroute to visit Chidambaram, Tanjore. Tanjore, also known as Thanjavur and the “Rice Bowl of Tamil Nadu”, houses numerous ancient temples of which the most notable one is Sri Brahadeeswarar Temple, an exquisite example of Chola Temple Architecture. Also worth visiting are the Palace, Hall of Music and Art Gallery. In case you like collecting handicrafts, do make sure to shop for some of them at Thanjavur as well. Now, resume your drive towards Trichy, where you will check into the hotel on arrival and then retire for the night.

Day 13: Trichy Sightseeing

A sightseeing tour of Trichy awaits you on the thirteenth day of your travel package combining Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Situated on the banks of Kaveri River, the city presents one of the best examples of history and tradition in South India. Begin your day with a visit to Tiruvanaikkaval, amongst the very few places in this world that has a Shiva Lingam almost submerged in water (flowing from a subterranean spring in the sanctum). Thereafter, move to Srirangam – a beautiful island on the Cauvery River that houses the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, a Vaishnavite Temple that boasts of 21 magnificently carved towers & stone pillars. After enjoy the rich temple heritage of Trichy, it is time to explore the historical legacy of the city as well. Next, a visit to Government Museum & Art Gallery in on the cards wooing you with its collection of sculpture, art, archaeology, painting, anthropology, handicrafts, and numismatics. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 14: Trichy – Chettinad – Madurai

Madurai awaits you on the 14th day of your tour. After having breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and start your drive to Madurai, visiting Chettinad on the way. Explore the beautiful temples of Chettinad, most notably the Vairavanpatti temple that is built in the Dravidian architectural style, Soorakudi temple known for its exquisite sculptures and Iraniyur temple that houses 50 bronzes here and a marvelous Nataraja dating to the 12th -13th century period. As you enter Madurai, you cannot help but be wooed by the old age charm of the city built in the shape of a lotus. Check into the hotel on arrival and then leave for a sightseeing tour of the city. Begin with Meenakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Meenakshi. It is known for being home to the thousand-pillared hall (actually housing 985 strikingly sculptured pillars). You can also visit the Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal to admire its Indo-Saracenic architectural style and musical pillars. In the evening, be a part of the prayer ceremony at Meenakshi temple. Day 15: Madurai – Munnar

The day begins with a drive towards the city of Munnar, the perfect place to calm your senses and let the nature take you over. On arrival, you will check into the hotel and then leave for exploring the place. Situated at a height of over 6000 feet, Munnar will woo you with its lush green beauty and serenity. The pristine valleys and mountains, exotic tea gardens and rich flora and fauna are a treat to the eyes. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 16: Munnar – Cochin

After you have spoilt your senses with the natural charm of Munnar, it is the time to pack your bags once again and leave for a sightseeing tour of Cochin. The commercial center of Kerala, Kochi is also known for having one of the finest natural harbours on the Arabian Sea coast. Check into the hotel on arrival and then leave for a sightseeing tour of the city. Jewish Synagogue is one of your first stops in Cochin. Dating back to the 16th century, the synagogue still houses scrolls of the Old Testament and a number of copper plates inscribed in Hebrew script. St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India which also houses the tombstone of Vasco da Gama, and Mattancherry Palace, boasting of Portuguese architectural style would be the other stoppages in your itinerary. Day 17: Cochin – Periyar

For anyone on a Kerala tour package, a visit to explore its rich flora and fauna cannot be far behind. So, on the 17th day of your tour, you will start your journey towards Periyar National Park, one of the 16 Project Tiger Reserves in India that is spread over an area of over 750 sq. m. Explored only through the means of a boat ride, this national park is home to as many as as 35 species of mammals, along with 250 species of birds, 45 species of reptiles and 40 species of fish. After you have enjoy the boat cruise on Lake Periyar, stop for lunch and then go on a jeep roide to explore Chellarkoil View Point and the picturesque Aruvikutty Waterfalls. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 18: Periyar – Kumarakom

In the morning, breakfast will be followed by a short boat ride on the Periyar Lake and you will get a chance to explore some more wildlife. If you are in Kerala, how can the picturesque backwaters of “God’s Own Country” be left behind! It is time to check out from the hotel in Periyar and start the drive towards Kumarakom, one of the most famous backwaters destinations in Kerala. Situated on the bank of the famous Vembanad Lake, it will surely woo you with its picturesque beauty. As you arrive in Kumarakom, check into the hotel and then enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. You can laze by the poolside or enjoy an Ayurvedic massage. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 19: Kumarakom Sightseeing

The first half of day will be at your disposal. You could pamper your body and mind with the first or even second round of Arurvedic massage. An ancient art that us over 5000 years old, it helps in the integration of the body, mind and consciousness. Enjoy a peaceful lunch and then start on your boat cruise to explore Kumarakom. Catch a glimpse into the rustic life of Kerala, explore the virgin forests with their lush green trees, witness banana plantation from a distance and swing with the swaying of coconut groves. If you are lucky, you might be able to catch the sunset lighting up the colorful houses on the banks. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

 Day 20: Kumarakom – Alleppey – Kovalam

Another backwater cruise awaits you on this day as you leave Kumarakom and begin your journey towards Alleppey. These backwaters present an exceptional web of lakes, lagoons, canals and rivers. Explore the rich tropical vegetation, bird life and crops of Kerala or even indulge in leisure activities like coir-making, toddy tapping, and fishing with the locals. As you arrive in Alleppey, a car will await you to take you to Kovalam. You will check into the hotel on arrival and then retire for the night

 Day 21: Kovalam Sightseeing

Start your day with a sumptuous breakfast and then leave to explore the magnificent beaches for which Kovalam is popularly known. It has three crescent shaped beaches that offer you the peace and tranquility hardly found anywhere else. You can simple enjoy sun bathing, enjoy a swim in the waters, opt for, Ayurvedic Rejuvenation, indulge in meditation, or go Catamaran cruising many. Do make sure to see the Kovalam lighthouse beach, visited by almost all the tourists who come here. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 22  : Kovalam – Trivandrum

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then start your drive to Trivandrum Airport. Our representatives will escort you and help you in boarding the flight for your onward destination.
